URBAN FABRIC SHANGHAI

Urban Fabric is a series of area rugs inspired by the man made patterns inscribed upon the Earth's surface through the development of our agriculture, infrastructure and architecture. The way we organize and divide parcels of land and how we occupy and use this land has shaped and marked the landscape. Urban Fabric is an abstraction of these patterns of organization, expressed in woven virgin wool of varying density, texture and pile length. Each piece is derived from a satellite view of a particular rural or urban scene having personal, formal or aesthetic significance.

URBAN FABRIC: Shanghai measures 200cm by 300cm in length and is presented in low – contrast grey on grey. Custom colours are available by special request.
